Um, Who?

Hi, thanks for dropping by rickcurrie.com!

I’m a Canadian father, husband, dog owner, writer, brother, uncle, camper, basement guitar strummer and comedian. Usually “comedian” is the reason people come to this site, so here’s my showbiz blurb:

Rick Currie has been a fixture of the Canadian comedy scene since the 1990s and remains one of it’s most popular, reliable and funny acts.

He’s been featured at clubs and corporate events across the country as well as on CTV, The Comedy Network, Sirius XM,  CBC TV and CBC Radio. He’s also appeared at numerous comedy festivals including Just for Laughs, Winnipeg and Halifax.

His alter ego, the country music crooning Dusty Bucks also delights audiences wherever he appears.

Rick has written for many TV shows including: The Scotiabank Giller Prize, the Canadian Country Music Awards, six national CBC New Years Eve specials and Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations from Parliament Hill.

For 8 years he was a staff writer for the CBC TV show “The Rick Mercer Report” where he collected 3 Canadian Screen Awards, wrote a sketch that was filmed on the International Space Station and put words into the mouths of celebrities from Prime Ministers to pop stars. He continues to work with the Rick Mercer team on occasional projects.

So that’s a bit about me, please feel free to send a note and tell me a bit about you.

Thanks for dropping by, I hope you find what you’re looking for.

CBC Radio Day 6 – The Sens new owner

I was asked to do a piece on Michael Andlauer’s purchase of the Ottawa Senators and tried to jam as many jokes as possible into two minutes. https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-14-day-6/clip/15991913-the-ottawa-senators-snoop-dogg-ryan-reynolds.-instead
